Lot 1 is operated by Nexus Development, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland. This policy covers lot1.ie and the Lot 1 dashboard at dash.lot1.ie.
Who is responsible for what
There are two different relationships here, and they are worth keeping apart.
For this website and for enquiries, Nexus Development is the data controller. If you ring us, email us or start a sign-up, we hold what you told us so we can answer you.
For the data inside a dealership's account — its customers, their trade-ins, their documents — the dealership is the controller and Nexus Development is the processor. We hold and process that data on the dealership's instructions, and only to provide the service. We do not use it for anything else, we do not sell it, and we never show one dealership's data to another.
What we collect
When you contact us or sign up: your name, dealership name, phone number, email address and roughly how many cars you hold. We use it to reply, to set your account up, and to keep track of who we have spoken to.
When you use the dashboard: your login identity (handled by Clerk — see below), and a record of the actions you take in the system, such as changing a price or taking a deposit. That record exists so a dealership can see who did what, which is one of the things it is buying.
Data your dealership puts in: vehicle records, customer names and contact details, trade-in applications, photographs and documents. That is the dealership's data, held on its behalf.
When you browse this website: standard server request logs. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Where it is held
Within the European Union, encrypted in transit and at rest.
Who else touches it
We use a small number of sub-processors, each for one job:
| Sub-processor | What it does |
|---|---|
| Clerk | Logins and identity for the dashboard |
| Amazon Web Services (S3) | Storage of photographs and documents |
| SMTP2GO | Sending transactional email |
| Motion | Reading a dealership's own vehicle adverts, using that dealership's own credentials |
| VMS | Irish vehicle registration lookups |
| Sentry | Error reporting, so faults can be found and fixed |
| PostHog (EU) | Product analytics for the dashboard |
We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not share it with anyone outside this list.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards. Data inside a dealership's account is kept for as long as that account is open. When an account is closed, its data is deleted after a short retention window, save where we are required to keep records for longer.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how it is used, or complain to the Data Protection Commission.
If the data in question sits inside a dealership's account, ask the dealership first — they are the controller and we will help them answer you.
